An album cover and poster for composer John Cage, one of the leading musical figures of the post-war avant-garde.
His album The Seasons, is a piece of orchestra released in 1947 in accordance with the ballet of the same name, directed by Merce Cunningham. It only contains four tracks: Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.
Following the title of this album, the cover reflects the idea of progression. The main visual was then deconstructed into a language of four: two diagonals, a vertical and a horizontal, each representing a season, a song.
The accompanying poster below is to promote the ballet performance featuring this album.
